چکیده

This study presents a study on the ductility performance of hybrid fibre reinforced concrete. The influence of fibre content on the ductility performance of hybrid fibre reinforced concrete specimens having different fibre volume fractions was investigated. The parameters of investigation included modulus of rupture, ultimate load, service load, ultimate and service load deflection, crack width, energy ductility and deflection ductility. A total of 27 specimens, 100×100×500 mm, were tested to study the above parameters. The specimens incorporated 0.0 to 2.0% volume fraction of polyolefin and steel fibres in different proportions. The ductility performance of hybrid fibre reinforced concrete specimens was compared with that of plain concrete. The test results show that addition of 2.0% by volume of hybrid fibres improves the ductility performance appreciably. An adaptive NeuroFuzzy based model has been proposed to predict the ductility performance characteristics. A reasonably close agreement has been obtained between the experimental and predicted results.

Mechanical Behavior of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced High Strength Concrete with Graded Fibers

Brittleness, which was the inherent weakness in High Strength Concrete (HSC), can be avoided by reinforcing the concrete with discontinuous fibers. Reinforcing HSC with more than one fiber is advantageous in an overall improvement of the mechanical performance of the composite. In this experimental study, Hybrid Fiber Reinforced High Strength Concrete (HyFR-HSC) mixes were formed by blending si...

Mechanical Properties of Fibre Reinforced Concrete - A Comparative Experimental Study

This paper in essence presents comparative experimental data on the mechanical performance of steel and synthetic fibre-reinforced concrete under compression, tensile split and flexure. URW1050 steel fibre and HPP45 synthetic fibre, both with the same concrete design mix, have been used to make cube specimens for a compression test, cylinders for a tensile split test and beam specimens for a fl...

Experimental Study on Fibre-reinforced Cementitious Matrix Confined Concrete Columns under Axial Compression

Poor fire resistance of fibre-reinforced polymer (FRP) restricts its further application in construction structures. In this paper, a novel fibre-reinforced cementitious matrix confined concrete column (FRCMCC) using fireproof grout as the fibre matrix was developed, and experiments were conducted to establish its performance and analyse the mechanical properties under axial compression. The te...

Mechanical Properties of Hybrid Fibre Reinforced Concrete With Steel And

The experimental study deals with Hybrid fibre reinforced concrete with the use of (Polypropylene and Recycled polyethylene terephthalate RPET). The M40 grade concrete used was designed by using IS10262-2009 code. The steel fibre and synthetic fibre were added at the volume fractions up to 0.5%. Test results showed that the fibres, when used in a hybrid form, could result in superior composite ...

Influence of Fibre Content on Crack Propagation Rate in Fibre-Reinforced Concrete Beams

Experimental study on the influence of fibre content on crack behaviour and propagation in synthetic-fibre reinforced beams has been reported in this paper. The tensile behaviour of metallic fibre concrete is evaluated in terms of residual flexural tensile strength values determined from the load-crack mouth opening displacement curve or load-deflection curve obtained by applying a centre-point...
